Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters have been at a fire near Tottenham Street since around 8.35am today (March 6).
Tottenham Court Road is closed in both directions, the AA reports.
A video shows a large plume of smoke rising across London, crossing in front of the BT tower and other notable landmarks.

The author of the video described the fire as “huge”.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters are at the scene of a fire near Tottenham Street in Fitzrovia.
“Please avoid the area and keep windows and doors closed due to smoke travel.”
