After meeting our funny and witty maze-master Byron – a great reflection of the show’s original host Richard O’Brien – we are whisked down a corridor ahead of the game beginning.
Bringing to life the original four zones from the much-loved TV series – industrial, futuristic, medieval and aztec – the attention to detail is extremely impressive.

The room designs are intricately crafted, with plenty of nods to the show that made them famous.
The feeling of running between areas makes players feel like contestants on the show (which was revived not too long ago with Richard Ayoade as host).
A word of warning: some of the challenges (especially what is essentially an adult’s soft play) require nimble movements to navigate.
But, as just one team member is nominated for each, there’s no fear of having to do something that you’re not particularly keen on.
For TV buffs, there’s even an original prop from the most recent incarnation of the show – and, of course, a big slide to go down.
The absolute highlight, of course, comes at the very end, when it’s time to step inside the Crystal Dome and grab as many tickets as possible before the time that’s been built up runs out.
Overall, while it might be a bit on the pricey side, The Crystal Maze Experience is perfect for anyone planning a stag or hen do; equally, youngsters would find it just as enjoyable.
Whatever your age, there’s no denying that it’s one of the best indoor activities available in the capital.
