The London Borough of Bexley announced on March 3 that 77.4 per cent of children received a place at a Bexley secondary school, an increase from last year’s 75.9 per cent.
In total, 90.3 per cent of applicants received one of their top three preferences, up from 89.2 per cent last year.
This year, 2,997 applications were made by Bexley residents, slightly fewer than last year’s 3,017.
The council said that 98.74 per cent of parents in Bexley applied online and will receive an email after 5pm with details of their child’s offer and further guidance.
Letters were posted yesterday (Monday) by first-class mail to those who applied using a paper form.
Councillor Caroline Newton, cabinet member for education, said: “Receiving a secondary school offer is a significant milestone for families.
“We are pleased that more children have secured a place at one of their preferred schools, particularly their first choice.
“I want to thank our schools admissions team for their hard work in supporting families through this process.”
Further details can be found in the offer email or letter.
