The LifeSkills Centre, created by Our Future Tutoring, is a purpose-built home located in Eltham, Greenwich, that aims to equip young people with essential life skills.
The centre, which will open on Wednesday, March 19, will support young people, including care leavers and those facing challenges in their journey to adulthood.
It offers a hands-on learning experience, teaching vital skills such as cooking, budgeting, household management, and financial planning.
The centre aims to bridge the gap between adolescence and independent living, ensuring young people are fully prepared for the future.
Kareena, CEO of Our Future Tutoring, said: “Too many young people enter adulthood without the fundamental skills to manage their own lives.
“The LifeSkills Centre is here to change that.
“Every young person deserves to feel capable and prepared, and this centre is designed to empower them with the confidence and skills they need to build a secure future.
“This isn’t just about learning life skills—it’s about giving young people a real sense of independence, self-belief, and the ability to thrive.”
For many young people, particularly care leavers, the transition to independent living can be overwhelming.
Many find themselves unprepared for the realities of their newfound independence, paying bills, and maintaining financial stability.
Without the right support, this can lead to financial hardship, housing insecurity, and a lack of confidence in managing daily life.
The LifeSkills Centre tackles this challenge head-on, providing a safe, structured environment where young people can practise and master essential life skills before stepping into independence.
The LifeSkills Centre will be a catalyst for change, ensuring that young people in Greenwich and beyond are given the skills, confidence, and support they need to live independently.
