Carley-Ann Osborn has seen success as an author with previous novels, like contemporary romance book What We Can Be and Pretend With Me.
The author has recently released her first children’s book, The Cute Newt, which Carley-Ann has illustrated as well as written.
The book follows Lu-Lu, who is a popular newt on her pond and enjoys spending her days sharing fantastical stories to all her friends.
The story sees a big shift when one of her friends has a birthday party, and Lu-Lu finds it ‘very tricky’.
Lu-Lu is unable express to her friends how she is feeling, and her friends do not seem to understand why Lu-Lu is upset.
Carley-Ann hopes the story will shine a light on normalising those who may have special educational or behaviour needs.
She said: “Working with young people, I see my fair share of children who believe that they cannot do it for some reason or another and I take immense pride in showing them that they can.
“I was worried to begin with, I wasn’t sure how my illustrations were going to come out in print or how the book would be received.
“I am please to say now, that I am extremely happy with both, with lots compliments already pouring in from those who have already seen it, agreeing that Lu-Lu really is, a very cute newt.”
The Cute Newt is available to buy at Amazon.
