Eltham Palace and Gardens
Where? Eltham, Greenwich, London, SE9 5NP

First on our list is the beautiful, landscaped gardens of Eltham Palace, which have a mix of both medieval and 1920s architecture showcasing its long history.
A short walk from Eltham High Street, these 19-acre gardens feature one of the oldest working bridges, which was overseen by Chaucer.
The gardens are abundant in flowers throughout much of the spring and summer, but you can find snowdrops beyond the top of the moat areas during the early spring, along with other bulbs such as cyclamen, yellow aconites and primrose.
Oxleas Woods
Where? Off Shooters Hill, Eltham, SE18 4LX
Next on our list is the ancient woodland of Oxleas Woods in Shooters Hill, with a history stretching back over 8,000 years.
Here you can see snowdrops around the forest as well as on a seven-mile walk from Falconwood to Abbey Wood, where you’ll see the runs of Lesnes Abbey.
The woods are also the home of Severdroog Castle, first built in the 18th century, which features a tea room and a viewing platform with great views of the London skyline.

Finally on our list is Lesnes Abbey, known for its ruins of its Abbey built in 1178, this place is home to plenty of woodland and open spaces where you’ll see snowdrops growing at this time of year.
