Tesco Express in Oxlow Lane, Dagenham is shut until next Tuesday (February 25) for refurbishment.
Improvement works include new shelving, a “full redecoration of the store internally”, and a refurb of the outside of the store.
A spokesperson for Tesco said: “Our Dagenham Oxlow Lane Express is temporarily closed for a refit to improve the shopping experience for our customers.
“Works will include new shelving and a full redecoration of the store internally as well as improvements to the exterior.
“We look forward to welcoming customers to a fully refreshed store after the upgrades are complete.”

The spokesperson did not confirm when the store will reopen, but the Tesco website says it will reopen at 8am on February 25.
Tesco will keep the community updated as works progress, the spokesperson added.
Nearby stores include Dagenham Heathway Express, Dagenham Shafter Road Express and Goodmayes Rowallen Express.
