Homebase Romford is one of 13 stores shutting for good this month after the DIY and garden centre chain entered administration in November.
After the administrators were appointed, The Range owner CDS Superstores bought up to 70 stores, with a further 10 bought by Sainsbury’s and another five by B&Q.
It has now been confirmed that administrators Teneo could not find buyers for 13 stores – including the Romford branch in Davidson Way – meaning they will close before the end of the month.
Other stores across the UK which were not saved include London Streatham Vale, Broadstairs, Cheltenham and Wolverhampton.

Signs in the windows of Homebase Romford say that “this store is now closed” and thank management and staff for their “custom”.
Teneo said that all affected employers were notified of the closure by their employee representative and store manager, with a letter sent home to confirm this.
The joint administrators have also been consulting with representatives of the affected employees with a “regular pattern of meetings”.
Teneo declined to comment further.
