Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service were called to Ilford Lane at 4.58pm on January 19 with reports of an incident.
The first ambulance crew arrived withing six minutes of the report coming in.
Emergency responders worked to treat a 45-year-old man at the scene, but he died a short while later.
His next of kin have been informed and enquiries continue.
The death is being treated as unexpected but not suspicious.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 4.58pm yesterday (Sunday 19 January) to reports of a medical incident in Ilford Lane, Ilford.

“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews.
“The first of our crews arrived in six minutes.
“Our crews treated a man. Sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency responders, he died at the scene.”
