East Croydon revealed as Croydon’s most used station of 2024

Data from On Time Trains has revealed how often stations across the UK were used, based on data on the average number of passengers who enter and exit the station every day.

We surveyed the data for Croydon’s 15 train stations, managed by Southern and London Overground, to find out which stations were the most and least used in 2024.

East Croydon was the most used station in the borough, with an average of 53,714 visits a day in 2024.

Overall, East Croydon was ranked as the 21st best-performing out of 2,639 stations across the UK.

Last year, 48% of trains were recorded to be on time, 5% were late by 10 minutes or more, and 4% were cancelled.

East Croydon station is part of the London to Brighton main line, with passengers able to travel to London Victoria, London Bridge, and Gatwick Airport from East Croydon station.

By contrast, Croydon’s least used train station of 2024 was Coulsdon Town, which had an average of 257 visitors a day last year.

Coulsdon Town station is served by Thameslink and Southern trains, with passengers able to travel to London Bridge from the station.

In 2024, 48% of its trains were recorded as being on time, with 31% of trains delayed by one to two minutes and 2% of trains delayed by 10 minutes or more.
