Expanding on their opinion, the poster shared: “Am I imagining it or are there more Americans in London than ever before? I feel like I’ve met more and are hearing accents everywhere.”
The comment quickly saw a debate rise between Londoners and Americans, quickly becoming a contest between the two.

One local shared that they love Americans in London, sharing: “I absolutely adore Yanks… they are among the few groups that are the most respectful of local culture. They follow the local rules.
“Plus they are just friendly. It’s extremely rare to meet the “ loud American” I think I’ve come across one in 40 years of international travel and having lived on 3 continents.”
With another local simple sharing: “Unpopular opinion. I love Americans, they cheer me up with their enthusiasm.”

Another Reddit user said they had been notching a change since 2022: “I noticed Americans flooding in from the summer of 2022 and it has only increased.
“I’ve now met tens of Americans who live full-time in London and moved here permanently.”
