A planning application was submitted on January 7 for the extension of the existing building at 27 Heath Park Road in Gidea Park.
This building used to be home to Oakfields Montessori Day Nursery.

The proposal, made by a Mr Tariq, is to extend the existing building to create five homes – one three- bedroom, two two-bedroom, and two one-bedroom.
The plans also include private and communal amenity spaces, on-site parking, cycle and bin storage.
Two of the five units would have access to private gardens whilst the other three have their own terraces.
If approved, construction is expected to begin in April and be finished in December.
The application’s supporting statements say: “The development will provide high quality residential accommodation that has good links to Romford and Gidea Park town centres and local amenities.
“The existing building is of no architectural merit and would benefit from the proposed refurbishment works to enhance the street scene and provide much needed housing in the borough.”
A decision on the proposal is expected to be made by February 27.
