Believ has reduced the price by 14 per cent, saving drivers 8p per kWh.
The new 48p per kWh rate equates to a 12p per mile cost, which Believ says is 5p per mile cheaper than running a petrol car.
The move is intended to encourage the use of the area’s public charging network and promote the benefits of switching to electric vehicles.
The company has more than 400 charge points in Waltham Forest, located in residential areas to support drivers without at-home charging access.
Guy Bartlett, Believ chief executive, said: “As well as encouraging the use of public charging network, this price reduction is designed to help drivers make the switch and help further the decarbonisation of transport – in order to deliver cleaner air for all.
“The industry has a duty to do what we can to encourage more and more drivers to make the transition sooner.”
