The Sun reported on January 6 that the high street retail giant was accelerating plans to close almost 100 stores due to tax changes in the Budget.
New Look currently has stores in multiple east London shopping centres such as The Liberty Shopping Centre in Romford and Exchange in Ilford.
The Sun article reported that around 91 stores are at risk when their leases expire.
But a spokesperson for New Look told this paper: “We can confirm that there are no closures planned.
“No decisions have been made by the business.”
The company has though confirmed the closure of one store in Wickford, Essex, which will welcome customers for the final time on January 24.
