Tracy Alabaster, from Home Instead Romford, Hornchurch, Rainham & Dagenham, was given the Carer of the Year accolade at the Care Providers’ Voice North East London Awards.
The ceremony was held at Stratford Town Hall and the award recognised Tracy’s dedication to supporting older adults in the community.
She was nominated by Kiran Agrawal, owner of Home Instead Romford, Hornchurch, Rainham & Dagenham, who said: “Tracy goes above and beyond to ensure her clients are well cared for and, most importantly, she always leaves them with a smile on their faces.
“We often talk about the ‘Mum Test’ at Home Instead – would we want that care professional to look after our own mum or loved one?
“Tracy exceeds even the highest expectations as she spends time truly getting to know each client, ensuring their care is delivered with thoughtfulness and diligence.
“Tracy is an incredible ambassador for Home Instead Romford, and the team would like to say a huge congratulations – you truly deserve this award.”
Tracy helps her clients with personal care, preparing meals and administering medication.
She arranges pamper sessions for clients and researching ways to make meals more appealing.
One example of her dedication was her ability to build trust with a client resistant to receiving personal care.
Kiran added: “Tracy recently provided end-of-life care for a client.
“Their family expressed heartfelt gratitude for Tracy’s dedication in ensuring their loved one experienced dignity and comfort, while also providing emotional support to the entire family.”
Tracy said: “I was so overwhelmed to even be nominated for this award, let alone to win.
“I love looking after my clients, and it’s the most rewarding job I’ve ever had.
“This recognition means so much, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives every day.”
