Film crews were spotted in Romford Shopping Hall on Monday (December 9), getting footage ahead of the show’s final on Saturday.
Romford Shopping Hall manager Michelle Petty revealed the producers wanted to film people’s opinions about this week’s Strictly climax, and said it was “absolutely brilliant” that they wanted to talk to the shop owners.
The BBC show’s final will see Chris McCausland, Sarah Hadland, Tasha Ghouri and JB Gill compete for the glitterball trophy with their respective professional dance partners.
Around 15 different independent business owners got the chance to be on camera, Michelle said, including Andy Brace from Worldwide Signings, Jason Rutland from Comic Box and the staff at Bow Bells cafe.
Michelle said the film crew asked questions such us “Who’s your favourite judge?”, “Who do you think will win this year?” and “What’s been your favourite dance?”

Michelle told the Recorder: “It was really, really good, and the producer was awesome – so understanding and encouraging when they [the business owners] were nervous to go on camera.
“The film crew got lots of lovely footage and if we make the cut – it’s not guaranteed that we will – we will be on Strictly on the final.”
The Strictly Come Dancing grand final will air on BBC One on Saturday, December 14 at 6pm, and will also be available to watch afterwards on iPlayer.
