When sharing why Richmond made the list, Hello! gave its transport connection praise, sharing that “it doesn’t take long to get into the city”.
Richmond has one main station, Richmond Station, that the District and Mildmay Line serve, along with National Rail services from South West Trains.

The borough’s riverside restaurants were another key reason it was named the UK’s happiest place to live.
Along the Thames, there are plenty of restaurants to enjoy, including Pegg Jean at Riverside Green, Riverhouse Restaurant, Gaucho and Tide Tables Cafe.
As a whole, Richmond has many well-rated restaurants and cafes throughout the borough that often earn praise from locals.
Richmond Park
The famous Richmond Park was one of the key reasons the borough was named by Hello!
With its rolling hills, wildlife and herds of deer; the spot is often described as an oasis.
The origins of the park can be dated back to 1625, when King Charles I brought his court to Richmond Palace to escape the plague in London, according to the Royal Parks.

Richmond has a strong but expensive housing market, according to Rightmove, the overall average cost of property in the borough is £873,997.
