Parveen Kour and her husband Ranjeet Singh welcomed their daughter at 9.59am on Wednesday, December 25.
The baby had been due at the end of January, but Parveen went into labour on Christmas Eve.
Parveen, 35, from Dagenham, said: “I think she wanted to be special and come early.
“It was really nice and festive in hospital on Christmas Day.”
Parveen and Ranjeet, who already have a nine-year-old son and a 12-year-old daughter, spent a few days in hospital and celebrated Christmas with family when they returned home.
Another mother, 30-year-old Akhinur Akter Jebin from Forest Gate, delivered her baby exactly on his due date.
Her son, Taib, arrived at 5.13am on Christmas Day.
She said: “I would have been happy with anything God gave me and I’m really happy to have two boys and a girl.”
Her husband, Hassan Mehdi, said: “It was really special.
“As Muslims, we don’t celebrate Christmas, but we see it as special as our prophet was born on this day.
“Our older children were really excited for their brother to come home.”
Not all arrivals were early or on time.
First-time parents Diana Golubova and Dario Scolastico, both 37, welcomed their daughter Alice nearly two weeks overdue.
Diana, of Harold Wood, said: “I’d had a membrane sweep but that didn’t work, so I was admitted on Monday, December 23 for an induction.
“It was really exciting to bring Alice home.
“I can’t stop looking at her, it’s such a joy.”
Baby Alice arrived at 1.46am, making her one of the first Christmas Day arrivals at the hospital.
Minutes earlier, at 1.17am, Barking parents Oneck, 29, and Afra, 26, welcomed their son Aariz.
Oneck said: “It was a very special moment for us when was born.
“His grandparents have come over from Bangladesh to see him, he’s the first grandchild.”
