R-Truth made an unexpected return to help Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight champion Jey Uso beat Undisputed WWE champion John Cena and Logan Paul in the main event of WWE Money in the Bank 2025.
Truth, who looks set to use his real-life name ‘Ron Killings’ moving forward, confirmed his sudden departure from the company just last week in an announcement that stunned the entire WWE universe and garnered a huge show of support from his co-workers.
On X, formerly Twitter, he wrote: I’m sorry to inform you all. I just got released from WWE. I want to thank WWE for the ride, but MOSTLY I want to thank each and EVERYONE OF YOU who was along for the ride.
“Thank you for all the love, support, and appreciation you have given me over the years. Thank you.”
That said, Truth is now back. Unmasking to reveal himself after attacking Cena, he blasted his ‘childhood hero’ with the Undisputed WWE championship and moments later, Rhodes hit the Cross Rhodes on Cena to pick up the win.
With Cena laid out and Uso recovering ringside after being but through the announce table, the conditions were somewhat perfect for a Money in the Bank contract cash-in. However, the winner of the men’s ladder match, Seth Rollins, opted to wait for his opportunity.
Rollins overcame the challenge of Solo Sikoa, Penta, LA Knight, El Grande Americano and Andrade to win the Money in the Bank ladder match for a second time in his career, though he owes a massive thank you to WWE United States champion Jacob Fatu.
Fatu, along with JC Mateo, seemingly cleared the path for Solo win but ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ ultimately snapped on Solo – told him he hates him – before performing a devastating moonsault and a uranage through a ladder.
Elsewhere on the card, Becky Lynch captured the WWE women’s Intercontinental title from Lyra Valkyria in a controversial finish where she grabbed the champion’s tights to steal the win. As per the match stipulation, Valkyria had to raise Lynch’s arm afterwards, acknowledging her as the better woman.
But the new champion went a step too far by instructing Lyra to fasten the championship around her waist and then extensively berated the beaten former champion. Clearly fed up, Valkyria dropped Lynch with a German suplex and followed it up with a Nightwing.
In an impromptu match set up at the first-ever WWE x AAA Worlds Collide event earlier in the night, Dominik Mysterio successfully defended the WWE Intercontinental championship against AAA’s Octagon Jr.
The women’s Money in the Bank ladder match kicked off the event as Rhea Ripley, Naomi, Alexa Bliss, Roxanne Perez, Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer engaged in battle to put IYO SKY and Tiffany Stratton on notice.
In the end, with nobody around, Naomi scaled the ladder and unhooked the briefcase to be declared the winner and become Ms. Money in the Bank for the first time in her career.
