The UK and EU are working together in an attempt to “reset” relations between the two economies by agreeing to a scheme to pave the way for under-30s to work on the continent.
The so-called youth experience scheme is a cross-border arrangement that would allow young people to live and work freely in Europe again.
The current trade agreement between the UK and EU only permits visa-free stays of up to 90 days for some activities over a six-month period.
Although the details are under negotiation and eligibility would be “capped and time-limited”, the UK government says younger workers in sectors such as professional services and hospitality could benefit.
We are looking to talk to young people who might take advantage of the scheme as well as employers in industries likely to be affected.
