The Metropolitan Police were called just after 10pm yesterday (October 31) to reports of a crash between a pedestrian and a car on Southend Lane in Bellingham.
A 65-year-old woman was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.
She remains in a life-threatening condition, and her next of kin have been informed.
Detective Inspector Paul Jackson, of the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This callous incident has left a woman in a life-threatening condition.
“Our thoughts are with her family at this worrying time.”
