East London as a whole saw a 4.6 per cent increase in reported crime from 13,648 cases in September to 14,289 cases in October.
Of the six boroughs in the east of the capital, only one saw a lower crime count in October compared to the previous month whilst the other five saw increases.
Newham again had the highest number of reported crime in October with 3,712.
This was up by 13pc from September.
Theft was the most frequently reported crime in Newham with 1,291 instances in October followed by violence against the person with 943 reports and vehicle offences with 413.
Each of these numbers were up from September.
Burglary, robbery, sexual offences and public order offences also saw higher counts in October.
Tower Hamlets saw the second highest crime count with 3,236 – up by 3.75pc from the previous month.
Theft and violence against the person were again the most frequent crime types with 949 and 935 reports respectively.
Burglary was the next most frequent with a total of 250 and was the only one of these figures to drop from September.
Redbridge was next in the October rankings with 2,150 offences reported – up marginally by 2.47pc.
A total of 751 violence against the person offences were registered followed by 478 cases of theft and 230 of vehicle offences.
The latter two crime types were down from September whilst violence against the person was up from a count of 702.
Other crime types that dropped in frequency from September were sexual offences, robbery and public order offences.
With a total of 1,929 offences reported in Waltham Forest in October, it placed fourth and saw a very small increase from the 1,923 crimes reported in September.
Violence against the person and theft were again the top two contributors with 549 and 541 respective reports – both were raised fractionally from the previous month.
A total of 197 vehicle offences saw this as the third most frequent crime type although this had decreased by 15.81pc from September.
Burglary and public order offences also saw a drop.
Barking and Dagenham and Havering have been the east London boroughs with the least crime in each month of 2025 and October was no different.
Barking and Dagenham saw 1,702 offences reported – up by 3.33pc from September.
Havering saw 1,560 offences reported and was the only borough to see less crime in October than in September (1,577), albeit fractionally.
Violence against the person was the most frequently reported crime in both boroughs with 591 cases in Barking and Dagenham and 530 cases in Havering.
Barking and Dagenham’s total was down from 661 reports in September whilst Havering’s grew from 492.
Theft and vehicle offences were the second and third highest contributors in both boroughs with Barking and Dagenham’s respective counts at 321 and 188 and Havering’s respective counts at 353 and 161.
