The victory means Draper will move into the world’s top 10 for the first time, though he has firmly set his sights on tonight’s huge showdown.
“It feels unbelievable,” he told Sky Sports about reaching the top 10. “I’ve been through so much the last few years with injuries and setbacks.
“It feels incredible, but I’ve got another one tomorrow.”
It will be the first meeting between the Draper and Rune since the quarter-final of the ATP Masters 1000 Cincinnati when Rune claimed the victory in straight sets in just over an hour.
