Himanshu Makwana, of Thurlby Road, Wembley, has been jailed for nine years at Harrow Crown Court on Thursday (March 6), after being convicted of two counts of rape.
The first incident occurred in 2019, when the 42-year-old began to talk to an 18-year-old girl.
After speaking for a few months, they decided to meet and he drove her to an empty office block to rape her.
Although it was reported to police at the time, the victim was never identified.
Four years later, Makwana again posed as a 19-year-old called Samir in April 2023 and spoke to a victim who only recently turned 16.
Shortly after, he parked on a street close to the victim’s school and waited for her, before asking for her help.
She helped him carry some books, but he then locked her in his car and he identified himself as Samir, before taking her to an empty building to rape her.
Makwana was arrested on November 27 in 2023, the day after the second incident.
A DNA sample taken on his arrest matched the unknown suspect in 2019.
He was charged with rape for both victims on December 22, 2023.
Appearing at Harrow Crown Court on Thursday (March 6), he was jailed for nine years and will serve an additional four years on extended licence.
He will also be made to register as a sex offender for life.
Detective Constable Lewis Jelley, who led the investigation, said: “Makwana posed as a young man on social media in order to prey on young girls. He carried out a horrific attack on one woman, and then did the same thing again a few years later. He was brought to justice following a painstaking investigation.
“I want to thank the two brave young women who came forward and reported the offences to us. Without their courage, we would not be in the position we are today.”
