But the Usyk-Dubois rematch is far from the only intriguing fight on Saturday night’s high-profile Wembley bill, where chief support comes from Lawrence Okolie.
‘The Sauce’ fights for only the second time up at heavyweight, having claimed the WBC Silver title on his debut in the division with an emphatic first-round stoppage of Hussein Muhamed at Wembley Arena in December, before then pulling out of an April 5 bout with London rival Richard Riakporhe due to injury.
2016 Olympian Okolie previously reigned as the WBO cruiserweight champion and a had a brief spell as WBC bridgerweight champion after an even more comprehensive opening round knockout of Lukasz Rozanski last May, before moving up again after joining forces with Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions following an acrimonious split with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing back in 2022.
Now he is up against South Africa’s Kevin Lerena, who is also stepping back up to heavyweight having won the bridgerweight belt vacated by Okolie as he stopped Serhiy Radchenko in the third round in Pretoria only two months ago.

The experienced Lerena is 31-3 and has fought the likes of Senad Gashi and Justis Huni in recent years, most known on these shores for knocking down an injured Dubois three times in stunning fashion in the first round on the Tyson Fury vs Derek Chisora 3 undercard at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in December 2022, before being stopped in the third.
Saturday’s undercard also features two of Usyk’s compatriots including USYK-17 Promotions’ light-heavyweight prospect Daniel Lapin, who defends his IBF Inter-continental title against Southampton’s unbeaten Commonwealth champion Lewis Edmondson, who saw a fight with Ezra Taylor fall through this summer after beating Dan Azeez and Oluwatosin Kejawa.
Also representing Ukraine is Vladyslav Sirenko, another promising heavyweight in Frank Warren’s stable who is looking for his 23rd consecutive professional win – and 20th knockout – against Warley’s Solomon ‘The Real Deal’ Dacres, who took this bout on late notice as he looks to bounce back from his first loss to David Adeleye in which he relinquished the English title.
Saturday also sees the next pro step for Aadam Hamed, the son of legendary British former featherweight champion ‘Prince’ Naseem Hamed, who looks to move to 6-0 against Argentina’s Ezequiel Gregores.
7-1 Liverpool super-lightweight James Francis should be opening the bill in a contest against Georgia’s Lasha Guruli, who only recently turned pro after winning a bronze medal at the Olympics in Paris last summer as an amateur in addition to two World Championship bronzes and a pair of European Championship silvers.
