Sir Brian May will unveil the unreleased track Not For Sale (Polar Bear) during a festive radio broadcast on Planet Rock this week.
The song, recorded during sessions for the band’s 1974 album Queen II, will feature in the upcoming 2026 rerelease of the album.
Unreleased Queen song to debut on Sir Brian May show
Sir Brian said: “It’s a song that goes back a very long way, but to my knowledge no one has ever heard this version.
“It’s a work in progress and will appear on the forthcoming rebuild of the Queen II album – coming next year – but I’m sneaking this into my Planet Rock special because I’m fascinated to know what people think about it.
“I hope people have a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year.”
Sir Brian will also share a selection of his favourite Christmas and seasonal songs during the programme.
The special will feature tracks by classic artists including Slade, Chuck Berry, The Crystals, and Bad News.
Listeners can also expect to hear a festive hit by Sir Brian’s wife, singer and actress Anita Dobson.
Queen, formed in the early 1970s, featured Sir Brian alongside drummer Roger Taylor, the late frontman Freddie Mercury, and bassist John Deacon.
The band released numerous hits including Bohemian Rhapsody, Killer Queen, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, and We Are The Champions.
Throughout their career, Queen achieved six UK number one singles and 10 UK number one albums.
Earlier this year, the group was named the most played rock act on UK radio and television in the 21st century by Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL).
Fans will be able to hear the track for the first time during Sir Brian’s Planet Rock Christmas Special, airing on Monday, December 22, at 6pm.
The show will be repeated on Christmas Day at 1pm.
