Despite challenges from earlier Covid-19 disruptions, which affected learning across the country, Sutton schools delivered impressive results.
Nationally, 62 per cent of Year 6 pupils met the expected standard in reading, writing and maths in 2023–24.
Sutton surpassed this figure, with 72 per cent of pupils achieving the benchmark.
Parents are urged to act quickly if their child is due to start primary school this year, as the deadline for applications for September 2026 places is January 15.
The data shows the percentage of pupils who reached the expected standard in reading, writing and maths during the 2024–2025 academic year.

Leading the rankings is St Elphege’s RC Junior School.
The Catholic school in Mollison Drive, Wallington was also named the 47th best primary school in the country by The Times in 2025.
The Department for Education reveals that 92 per cent of pupils met the expected standard in reading, writing, and maths.
Cheam Common Junior Academy and Westbourne Primary School
In joint second place are Cheam Common Junior Academy and Westbourne Primary School, with a score of 90 per cent.
Manor Park Primary Academy
In fourth place is Manor Park Primary Academy, where 87 per cent of pupils met the expected standard.
Cheam Fields Primary Academy and Robin Hood Junior School
Sharing fifth place are Cheam Fields Primary Academy and Robin Hood Junior School, with 84 per cent of pupils achieving the expected standard.
St Cecilia’s Catholic Primary School
In seventh place is St Cecilia’s Catholic Primary School, where 82 per cent of pupils met the expected level.
Beddington Park Academy
In eighth place is Beddington Park Academy, where 80 per cent of pupils achieved the expected standard.
Brookfield Primary Academy and Cheam Park Farm Primary Academy
Sharing ninth place are Brookfield Primary Academy and Cheam Park Farm Primary Academy, where 79 per cent of pupils reached the expected standard.
Muschamp Primary School and Language Opportunity Base
Rounding out the top 10 is Muschamp Primary School and Language Opportunity Base, with 79 per cent of pupils meeting the expected standard.
