The Reuse Shop in Chingford is offering a range of second-hand products including sports equipment, games, ornaments and festive decorations.
The shop, located at Kings Road Reuse and Recycling Centre, supports the circular economy through community donations and sells items at a fraction of their original price.
Katie Blowes, waste operations manager at LondonEnergy, said: “Whilst we all enjoy the gift of giving, there is little doubt that Christmas can be a bit of an environmental disaster when it comes to the waste we produce.
“It is estimated that around £700 million of unwanted gifts are bought each year, including around 25 million toys gifted during the holidays that are neglected by the end of January, with nine million toys ending up in landfill.
“Shopping at the Reuse Shop gives residents of North London the opportunity to buy some fantastic presents, decorations, and other festive items at a fraction of their cost when new.
“Buying pre-loved gives someone else the opportunity to love the item and has the additional benefit of directly reducing the amount of waste we produce over the festive period.”
