Data has been released by the Office of Rail and Road detailing estimates on how many people used the nation’s train stations from April 2024 to March 2025.
The figures were released earlier this month and are estimated based primarily on ticket sales.
Romford was Havering’s most used station in this time period with 12,143,302 entries and exits.
Stratford was named as the main origin or destination station for journeys to and from Romford and 2,955,202 journeys were to or from there.
With a considerable drop in total users, the second most busy station in the borough was Upminster with 5,020,900.
The main origin or destination station at Upminster was West Ham with 1,274,300 journeys coming from or leaving to go there.
Harold Wood was the third busiest with 3,637,666 users from April 2024 to March 2025.
With 2,998,252 travellers in this period, Gidea Park was next in the ranking.
Stratford was the main station of origin or destination at both Harold Wood and Gidea Park with 663,302 and 563,726 journeys to and from Stratford respectively.
Rainham saw 1,525,196 users and Emerson Park was the least busy train station in Havering with a total of 302,740 users.
Both Rainham and Emerson Park saw West Ham as the main station of origin or destination.
A total of 526,204 journeys at Rainham and 39,856 journeys at Emerson Park went to or from West Ham.
In total, 1,730 million passenger rail journeys were made between April 2024 and March 2025 across Great Britain.
This is an increase of seven per cent from the 1,610 million journeys made in the previous year.
London Liverpool Street was the most used station in Britain with 98,000,000 entries and exits in this time frame followed by London Waterloo with 70,400,000 and London Paddington with 69,900,000.
