Mooted for the last two decades, Thames Wharf DLR station would be built between Canning Town station and West Silvertown station.
The station has been proposed to serve the Thameside West residential development scheme, and would sit next to where the Silvertown Tunnel emerges north of the river.
In 2023, Transport for London (TfL) said that it did not have the funding to progress plans for the new station beyond its “current stage of development”.
But in a TfL report released earlier this month, transport bosses say that they have been working with a “potential delivery partner and funders” to progress the project.
An updated feasibility study for the new DLR station is now expected to be finalised sometime next month.
The report also said that the station would be on the longlist to receive funding from its sustainable housing and accessibility fund this year.
Other projects on the list include new escalators for Pontoon Dock station, an upgrade to Surrey Quays station and step-free access at Tube stations across the capital.
