The couple stunned in the final, scoring two 40s and a 37 across their three dances.
But it came down to the public vote, and it was confirmed at the end of the evening that Karen and Carlos were the winners this year.

The former Lioness lifted the glitterball trophy after an emotional final episode.
Almost too stunned to speak, she said: “I can’t believe it.
“I just want to say thank you to everybody that has supported our journey, and supported us.
“Thank you to this wonderful gentleman, we are a team and I couldn’t have done it without you.
“It’s been the biggest privilege and honour. I’m literally lost for words, I’m so sorry.”
Partner Carlos added: “You changed my life.”
He added: “To the girls and boys watching at home, dream big and be proud and never give up.”

Strictly fans online have praised Karen’s win, with one calling it “well-deserved”.
Another wrote: “Their consistency, chemistry, and improvement week after week stood out – not just big moments, but clean technique and control.”
“YES they deserved it,” said a third fan.
While a fourth said: “Karen and Carlos winning is so iconic! Putting the “footballer on strictly” tag to shame and kicking it out the park (pun intended).”
The duo winning topped off an emotional evening on Strictly, with presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman bidding farewell to the show.
