Hasan, 78, opened Soma Dry Cleaners on Greenwich High Road in 1973, and has been serving the community ever since.
He has now decided to retire, and will be closing the shop at the end of March.
Over the years, Hasan has seen the area change, and said he has always maintained the “highest standards of service”.
He said he is grateful to the loyal customers who have supported him over the years.
Hasan said: “It’s the people who made this place what it is.
“From young couples bringing in their wedding dresses to generations of families trusting us with their Sunday best, every piece of clothing has a story, and I feel privileged to have been part of so many.”
Many people have shared their appreciation for the shop, saying it was more than just a place for laundry, but a community hub where friendships formed and local news was exchanged.
The community has wished him well in his retirement, and thanked him for his years of service.
