Ripple Road was closed both ways at Vicarage Drive, off the St Pauls Road roundabout, due to a fire this morning (March 7).
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called at 7.05am to a fire at a shop with flats above.
Part of the ground floor of the shop was damaged by the fire, but there is no indication of damage to the flats.
The London Fire Brigade says 16 people from the flats left before firefighters arrived and there were no reports of any injuries.
It was eventually under control by 8.15am.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
