Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called at 9.25am on December 13 with reports of a domestic disturbance in North Road.
At the scene, a man was found in the street who then “set himself alight” according to a Met spokesperson.
Emergency responders including the London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade put the flames out with the help of members of the public.
The man was taken to hospital where his condition was confirmed as not life threatening or life changing.

His next of kin are aware.
A police officer was also treated for minor burns and has since been discharged from the hospital.
The case has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct as police were in attendance when the man sustained his injuries.
