The Early May Bank Holiday is approaching and with it, one hopes, continued good weather.

We have compiled nine pubs in and around Highgate that have a beer garden to sit in – five in Highgate itself and four not far away!

This Highgate watering hole in North Road has not one, but two beer gardens.

Named as one of the top 10 gastropubs in the country, it has been nominated in the Greater London region of the National Pub & Bar Awards 2025, which will be held in June.

At the bottom of Highgate West Hill, the historic Duke is billed as a “muddy boots” pub given its location on the edge of Hampstead Heath.

It has a small terrace, tables around the side of the pub and a little nook with a couple of small tables and chairs. If it’s sunny and packed, you can stand outside with everyone else.
