The Austrian gave a stunning press conference this afternoon, previewing Crystal Palace’s trip to face Sunderland, but offered plenty of headlines away from the match.
“A decision has already been taken, months ago,” Glasner told reporters on Friday. “I had a meeting with Steve [Parish, chairman] in October, the international break.
“We had a very long talk, and I told him I will not sign a new contract.
“I told Steve [that] I’m looking for a new challenge.”

Manchester United’s interest in Glasner as a potential replacement for Ruben Amorim, who was sacked earlier this month, has been reported for some time.
The Red Devils have brought in Michael Carrick as head coach on a contract until the end of the campaign, after which Glasner has been tipped as the favourite to step in.
Carrick also ranks highly to extend his stay at Old Trafford, though the possibility of that happening will hinge on his results over the next five months.
He took over at United with the club sat seventh in the Premier League, and has since been held to a draw by Burnley and been knocked out of the FA Cup by Brighton.
Tuchel will be out of contract following this summer’s World Cup, with his availability for the job also likely to be swayed by how the Three Lions perform in the United States.
Southgate, meanwhile, has been out of work since leaving the England job following Euro 2024.
Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique is named as a rank outsider after reports surfaced this month claiming he would not sign a new contract with the French champions.
His current deal expires at the end of next season, but he finds himself under pressure after PSG were dumped out of the French Cup by their next-door neighbours, Ligue 1 strugglers Paris FC.
