And it looks like the weeks of sunshine we enjoyed until last weekend is over, with more unsettled weather across the long bank holiday break.
Londoners can expect highs of 16C or 17C over the long Easter weekend, somewhat short of the temperatures in the 20s last week.
As Christians mark Maundy Thursday, the day of the Last Supper, the Heath will have “the odd shower” according to the forecast for Hampstead Heath Youth Hostel.
Good Friday will start bright but by late afternoon there will be a 40% chance of rain.
Saturday will begin grey with temperatures between 9C and 11C but a breeze may blow those clouds away and the temperature rise along with them.
However the Met says this may not be the case across the city, so take a brolly with you to be on the safe side.
While images show white clouds for Hampstead Heath Youth Hostel, the Met Office warns: “Long periods of rain on Friday and Saturday, when it will turn heavy at times.”
Easter Sunday will begin with sunny intervals, turning to overcast but should be mostly dry.
Easter Monday will start out cloudy, changing to sunny intervals by late morning with a top temperature of 15C.
But there is good news for the end of the month. The Met Office said on its website: “Late April into early May will probably see a good deal of settled weather with high pressure patterns most likely to dominate.
“Whilst some spells of wetter, more unsettled weather are possible at times, much of the period is expected be fine and dry. Temperatures are expected to be near normal or slightly above.”
