The Briton lost her WBO welterweight world title in September after a majority decision defeat to Mayer, with that coming just hours after she was attacked with a can of red paint as she left her hotel.
Ryan suggested in the aftermath of the fight that she should have pulled out as a result of the attack, in what was a second frustrating bout in the United States for the 31-year-old.
In 2023, Ryan believed she had done enough to beat Jessica McCaskill and become unified world champion, but the fight was scored a draw and the American kept hold of her WBA and WBC titles.
Those straps are now held by Lauren Price, after her wins over McCaskill and Natasha Jonas, and the Welshwoman will be eyeing an undisputed showdown with whoever comes out on top on Saturday night.
Mayer is now a two-weight world champion, with her victory over Ryan adding to the super-featherweight titles she held earlier in her career. The 34-year-old was beaten at the start of last year when challenging for Jonas’ IBF belt at welterweight, but climbed to the top of the division at the second time of asking.

Mayer vs Ryan 2 prediction
There was very little to split Mayer and Ryan in the first fight and another tight clash is expected here.
Ryan has spoken of how much the paint attack impacted her, saying she was “fighting off empty”, and that will encourage her heading into the rematch, considering just how competitive the first fight still was.
The Briton made a fairly slow start in September and cannot afford a repeat here, with Mayer’s speed helping her establish control. Ryan did grow into the bout and the left hook was a particular weapon for her, with that shot surely a key part of her gameplan this time.
There had been questions over how Mayer would fare at welterweight, having stepped all the way up from super-featherweight, but she answered those and appeared to carry real power in her right hand.
Ryan will need to force the pace more from the first bell and get Mayer on the back foot. If she can do that, and avoid any fight-week distractions, she could well bring the WBO title back to the UK.
