United have little left to play for in the Premier League but getting one over on neighbours City would be a major boost for Ruben Amorim, who has already got the better of Pep Guardiola twice this season.
A late Amad Diallo winner gave United a 2-1 victory at the Etihad in December, while Amorim’s Sporting thrashed City 4-1 in the Champions League in November.
City will again be without Erling Haaland and need a win in their fight to qualify for the Champions League.
Here’s everything you need to know about the game…

Manchester United vs Manchester City team news
Manchester United’s injury issues eased during the international break with several first-team players returning to full training. Among those were Leny Yoro and Harry Maguire who both featured at the City Ground on Tuesday night.
The latter will be pushing for a start, whilst Rasmus Hojlund is pushing for a recall at the expense of Joshua Zirkzee after the Dutchman was ineffective at leading the line against Forest.
Amorim has revealed Kobbie Mainoo is in contention to return from injury, but defender Matthijs de Ligt is a doubt.
Man City are certainly without leading scorer Erling Haaland due to an ankle injury which means January signing Omar Marmoush – a scorer in his last three appearances – is likely to get his first taste of a Manchester derby.
Meanwhile, Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne will all be fresh having been unused substitutes in the 2-0 win over Leicester.

Manchester United vs Manchester City prediction
Recent history gives United the edge for this one. After all, they surprised many in last season’s FA Cup final by leaving Wembley with the trophy and then earlier in this campaign Amorim’s side came from behind to leave the Etihad with all three points.
Both sides are in decent form currently, but Amorim seems to have Guardiola’s number at the moment to mastermind yet another victory over the Spaniard.
Manchester United to win, 2-1.
