Liverpool host Crystal Palace on the final day of the campaign this afternoon, with a battle of Premier League champions and FA Cup winners providing a dress rehearsal for next season’s Community Shield.
Having now qualified for next season’s Europa League, their first taste of European football, Palace’s sole goal for the day will be to end the campaign on a high note, and what better way to do that than by beating the champions?

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace team news
The Eagles will leave Adam Wharton at home for their trip to Liverpool after he suffered a head injury in the FA Cup final. Marc Guehi also sustained an eye injury after catching a shot in the face from close range at Wembley, but Oliver Glasner said he could return.
Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure will both miss out, too, having been sidelined for much of the season with long-term knee injuries.
Alexis Mac Allister is the only absentee for Liverpool. He is carrying a hip injury, which Arne Slot has said is not serious but requires rest to properly heal ahead of next season.
He said: “Alexis will not play for us this season anymore. He needs rest at this moment in time to recover completely and to be ready for the start of next season, but it will be no problem for him to be back [for 25/26].
“I think he played throughout the last part of the season with the Argentinian mentality he has. Never gives up, no matter what he feels, but it is not smart to play a player that has not a big injury, but something to take a risk with.”
Liverpool vs Crystal Palace prediction
Since winning their respective trophies, Liverpool and Palace have had very different fortunes. The Reds have hit the beach, losing two and drawing one since clinching the Premier League, while the Eagles produced a remarkable comeback win over a strong Wolves side in their sole outing since the FA Cup final.
Palace players and fans alike will want nothing more than to seal this historic season with a win over the champions.
With Monday’s victory parade at the forefront of their minds, they will not be short on motivation. Long may the Palace party continue.
