The La Liga giants have lost just one match all season, and even that Madrid derby defeat by Atletico last month hasn’t stopped Los Blancos from ascending to the top of the table ahead of a crunch El Clasico showdown with Barcelona this weekend.
Kylian Mbappe has netted 15 times in 11 matches across La Liga and the Champions League and is forming a formidable partnership with Real’s latest young break-out star, Arda Guler.
Xabi Alonso’s other attacking weapons include Vinicius Jr, who has nine direct goal involvements in as many La Liga appearances, although the Brazilian is yet to get in the score sheet in Europe this season.
Despite that, Real – the record 15-time winners of this competition – have won both their Champions League outings so far, beating Marseille 2-1 and then hammering minnows Kairat Almaty 5-0.
Juventus, on the other hand, have drawn both of their previous Champions League games, following up a 4-4 thriller against Borussia Dortmund with a 2-2 stalemate at Villarreal.
Those two matches have formed part of a six-game winless run (five consecutive draws plus a loss to Como last weekend) for a team that was once the dominant force of Serie A.
