Participants will run and walk through the best routes that the west London borough has to offer over the 25km or 50km event.
And, despite the name suggesting a certain femininity, it is very much open to everyone.
“The London Borough of Ealing is known as the Queen of the Suburbs – an area that was easily reached from central London on public transport but with the feeling of being in or close to the countryside,” a spokesman for the event said.
The run was born out of the pandemic when the charity We Run Ealing established a virtual event for residents to run around the parks in the borough.
Participants clocked up significant distances as part of the enterprise and it led to an idea of a longer event being planned – not just a marathon, but a full-on ultra.
An ultra is not a set distance but actually any length longer than a traditional 42km – or 26.2 mile – marathon. It is often run at 50km or 100km, the former being the option in Ealing.
The first Queen of the Suburbs Ultra was held last year.

When is the Queen of the Suburbs Ultra in 2025?
In 2025, it will be held on Saturday, March 22, with a route that offers mainly off-road paths around Ealing’s parks and trails.
The spokesman added: “Whether you’re a seasoned ultramarathoner or a beginner, Queen of the Suburbs Ultra offers surprising hidden trails, stunning views and a challenging experience that you won’t forget.
”Enjoy the route through Ealing’s parks, along canal paths and a climb up Horsenden Hill to take a great view of Wembley Stadium and beyond. The Queen of the Suburbs Ultra has it all, within just one London borough – Ealing.”
Hundreds have responded in earnest to the call to action, with the 2025 edition selling out, and organisers have been catering to demand by putting on free training runs at various distances.
