Berthia and Romuald Williams, who live in Magdalen Mews off Finchley Road, are being forced to move from their home after their landlord issued a ‘no fault’ eviction.
They have until March 14 to vacate the property and have so far been unsuccessful in finding another place.
After reading of their plight in the Ham&High, Denise Balban got in touch to offer them a temporary stopover.
She said: “I can provide this elderly couple with a temporary home if no other alternative comes up.”
She said she had a fully equipped modern caravan at her private residence which would be free for up to six months, apart from bills.
She said it was “just a suggestion as it would keep them together and give them some peace in the countryside”.
“I’m in Kent, so it’s not ideal, but might help,” she added.
“Shame on this country for the way it treats our elderly.”
Berthia, who is an 73-year-old full time carer, said: “We are grateful for the kind offer.
“Kent is out of the way for me and I have to work so commuting to Kent on a daily basis is not ideal for me and I look after my husband who just came out of hospital.”
Romauld, 86, added: “I am thankful for that but Kent is out of the way for us. My wife works in Ilford and when she finishes at 10pm getting to Kent is problematic.”
Their daughter Lissa said: “That’s such a lovely offer. Kent is not ideal for my parents. “They are still waiting for a phone call from the council and we hope to get a response. “We are all in limbo.”
