Father’s Day is this Sunday (June 15) but if you haven’t sorted out your plans yet, there are many restaurants and pubs in Romford still taking bookings.

The Recorder has rounded up five options for a Father’s Day meal – whether your dad loves a pub lunch or is a fan of Chinese food.

The Mawney Arms

The Mawney Arms, Mawney Road, offers a Sunday set menu – including a “trio of meats” Sunday roast – and is giving out free pints of Madri this weekend with a voucher on their app.

Empire Restaurant

Empire Chinese Restaurant is taking bookings for both lunch and dinner this Father’s Day – between 12.30pm and 2.30pm for lunch and 5.30pm and 10.30pm for dinner.

The restaurant in Victoria Road offers set menus featuring classic Chinese dishes, including beef in black bean sauce and Kung Po prawns.

Harvester – Gidea Park

Harvester, in Main Road, offers a three-course menu, priced at £25.99, features chargrilled chicken skewers, ribeye steak and grilled salmon – as well as dessert options like apple pie and treacle sponge.

RAFA Club

For a Sunday roast with all the trimmings, you could head to Romford Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) Club this Sunday.

The club in Carlton Road is serving up lamb, beef, chicken or pork roast dinners for £10.95, between 1pm and 4.30pm. Pre-booking is required.

Ivy Tree

Ivy Tree, in South Street, is a high-end option for treating your dad this Sunday.

The gastropub is planning a live DJ and singer for Father’s Day, complete with its usual menu including fresh pastas, seafood and steaks.
