F1 United States Grand Prix 2025: Start time, weather forecast and how to watch race live

The event is the fourth Sprint weekend of the season, and it could prove pivotal in the race to be crowned world champion.

It starts a run of races down the Americas, with the Mexican, Brazil, and Las Vegas Grand Prixs all taking place at the end of the month and moving into November.

Oscar Piastri leads his McLaren team-mate Lando Norris by 22 points in the drivers’ standings, but there was controversy in Singapore last time out over Norris’ podium finish, where the pair’s wheels collided on the first lap.

Max Verstappen, who has won the last four straight championships, is back on song too, but trails by 63.

With it being a Sprint weekend in Texas, there are 33 points to claim.

George Russell, who Mercedes confirmed would stay on into 2026, beat Piastri and Norris in Singapore, and Ferrari are on the hunt for some salvation after a disappointing campaign.

The 2025 USA Grand Prix takes place on Sunday, October 19 at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

The first practice session for the USA Grand Prix takes place on Friday at 6.30pm BST, with the Sprint qualifying later on into the evening, at around 10pm BST.

The Sprint is on Saturday evening at 6pm BST, with the race itself due to begin at 8pm BST on Sunday – 3pm local time.
