In a statement on Epsom and Ewell Beat, the force confirmed that a collision had taken place outside Blacks Burgers yesterday (July 5) at around 5pm.
Road closures were put in place on Waterloo Road, at the junction with Station Approach as well as Horsley Close, and the junction on Station Approach with West Hill.
A photo taken by an eyewitness appears to show a car having collided with the side of the building, with cordons in place and a fire engine at the scene.
In a statement on Instagram, Blacks Burgers confirmed that the Epsom branch would be closed for the weekend and “till further notice” following the incident, with further updates expected next week.
The business also confirmed that no staff or customers were injured following the collision and thanked those who had expressed concern.
The full statement reads: “Epsom burger buds, we’ll be closed for the remainder of the weekend and till further notice due to the accident that’s occurred.
“We can’t comment on what’s happened outside the shop, but all customers and staff are absolutely fine.
“Thanks for the well-wishers who have already got in contact.
“We’ll of course keep updated at the start of the week.”
We have contacted Surrey Police and Surrey Fire & Rescue Services for further information.
