The Manchester City duo have a “choice” between representing City at the Club World Cup or their nation this summer according to Pep Guardiola.

City boss Guardiola admitted on Friday that Carsley has requested for the duo to feature for the Young Lions next month.

The Crystal Palace midfielder, who started in their FA Cup final triumph over City last week, was not given the nod despite his recent club form.

The 21-year-old featured in England’s Euro 2024 campaign but has had a stop-start Premier League season with injuries.

Liverpool’s Harvey Elliot and Newcastle’s Tino Livramento have been included alongside Ipswich’s Liam Delap, who has been linked with a move away from Portman Road this summer.

England’s opening game comes against Czech Republic on June 12 before meetings with Slovenia and Germany make up Group B.
