The limited-time menu will be available at Shake Shack in Covent Garden on Friday, July 11 from 12pm until it is sold out.
Chef John Chantarasak, co-founder of the award-winning AngloThai restaurant in Marylebone, has created unique versions of the classic burger and fries for the day, the AngloThai burger and laab spiced fries.
The AngloThai burger includes an Aberdeen Angus beef patty, fried in red curry paste, topped with ox tongue, wild garlic, green olive purée, som tam-infused pickles, and served on a potato bun.
The fries, on the other hand, are seasoned with an AngloThai spice blend and topped with fermented yellow soybean mayonnaise and wild garlic sweet chilli relish.
Mr Chantarasak said: “As a long-time admirer of Shake Shack, I’m thrilled to be creating my very own burger and fries that showcase the bold flavours and ingredients we like to cook with on our menus at AngloThai.”
He continued: “I’m sure fans of AngloThai and Shake Shack are going to love the AngloThai burger and laab spiced fries.”
Proceeds from the one-day menu will be donated to Grow, a Barnet-based food charity.
Jim Frisch, Shake Shack’s culinary director, said: “We’ve long admired what John and his wife, Desiree, have strived to achieve with AngloThai, so we couldn’t be more excited to be working with John in showcasing his delicious, innovative flavour combinations to our UK fans.”
This venture is part of Shake Shack’s ‘Stand for Something Good’ initiative, which supports and invests in local communities.
The collaboration with AngloThai aligns with the company’s mission by contributing to GROW, a farm that plays a vital role in enriching the lives of students at The Totteridge Academy and the wider Barnet community.
