Shoppers have been left unable to buy certain food products including cakes, baps and pastries from selected Costa cafes due to the disruption.
Costa customers have been taken to social media to report the issue.
One person, posting on X (formerly Twitter), said: “No cakes, pastries, bread at Costa. What going on @CostaCoffee.”
The poor @CostaCoffee workers, the lights have been out for weeks in their corner of @Tesco & now there’s a supply issue & no fridge stock! Regardless, they smile & serve. pic.twitter.com/PnctSL3ZMj

“Regardless, they smile & serve.”
While a third person posted: “@CostaCoffee what’s up with your deliveries? My local hasn’t had a cinnamon bun in all week, and I’ve been dying for one all week too.”
A spokesperson for the company said it is aware of the issue and is working to ensure it has minimal affect on customers.
So sorry for any inconvenience caused by this. We are aware of this issue and are working hard to have it resolved as soon as possible. Apologies again!

The Costa Coffee spokesperson, speaking to The Sun, said: “We are aware of the disruption at one of our distribution partners, which has temporarily impacted deliveries to some of our stores.
“We are working to ensure that disruption to our customers is minimised in the affected areas.
“In the meantime, we have taken steps to maintain service across our stores and are committed to providing the high-quality experience that our customers expect.”
“Do not shout, swear, or blame our workers” Costa staff plea
A Costa employee has also taken to social media amid the stock shortages to offer customers a “polite reminder” to be mindful of staff as the hospitality industry enters its “busiest time of the year”.
How many cups of tea/coffee should you drink a day?
Posting on Facebook the Costa worker said: “Costa Coffee stores across Leicester and other counties are currently dealing with a stock shortage across food and cake supply due to a major issue at our distribution depot.
“This is a polite reminder that this is through no fault of mine, any of my staff, our Franchise staff, or our HO.
“Please be mindful that we’re heading into our busiest time of the year in the hospitality industry as it is, and we have added extra stress now on top.
