Connie’s Pizza will open in Peckham on January 26 with an unusual Bri-Talian concept.
The pizzeria will offer 25 per cent off to early customers until the end of February.
However, Connie’s Pizza, inspired by 081 Pizzeria founder Andrea Asciuti’s British-Italian heritage, plans to offer a bold fusion of Italian pizza with traditional British flavours.
The restaurant will serve a variety of crispy pizzas topped with a variety of British ingredients such as leeks, mushrooms, aubergine, chicken, and pork, with Italian cooking techniques.
Asciuti’s vision for this new venture was inspired by his family’s background, particularly his daughter’s heritage.
In line with its aim to pay homage to his roots, the restaurant is even named after his wife, Connie.
The company described the restaurant as “Italian born, London raised – and here to do London pizza properly”.
The menu is expected to offer a wide selection, ranging from British-influenced flavours to traditional pies such as Margherita—featuring British mozzarella—and the Nduja pie, which comprises British Stracciatella.
Peckham residents and visitors can expect more from Connie’s Pizza’s offerings beyond the inventive pizzas.
Other interesting items on their menu include Tomato and Aubergine Pie, Sautéed Mushrooms, Truffle & Basil pizza, and a variety of side dishes like meatballs, deep-fried mac ‘n’ cheese, and mozzarella sticks.
For sweet lovers, there’s the Fiocco di Neve—a soft mini brioche filled with ricotta and whipped cream.
Connie’s Pizza, situated on Queens Road, not only aims to serve creative fusion pizzas but also aims to promote British produce.
Interestingly, the opening of Connie’s Pizza marks a significant deviation for its parent establishment, 081 Pizzeria, which was recognised among the top 50 pizzerias in all of Europe.
The new eatery promises to deliver a crispier texture and a variety of fusion-style pizzas.
Here, Connie’s Pizza commits to using seasonal British ingredients and blending them harmoniously into a light, chewy, and crispy pizza base.
The new pizzeria stands as testimony to the dynamic culinary scene in South London, where innovative approaches continue to redefine traditional recipes.
By welcoming this inventive Bri-Talian restaurant, Connie’s Pizza exemplifies the region’s evolving relationship with food—merging tradition with creativity, and local ingredients with international cuisines.
Connie’s Pizza is showing that it is possible to both honour culinary roots and embark on bold new journeys in taste.
The new generation pizza place, with its mix of crispy, British flavour-infused pizzas, is ready to create a revolution in the South London food scene.
